Temar Farm

Temar Farm yang berlokasi di Imogiri, Bantul, lahir dari semangat sekelompok pemuda yang bekerja sama dengan Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Gadjah Mada untuk mewujudkan peternakan unggas yang berorientasi pada kesejahteraan hewan. Inisiatif ini bermula sebagai proyek komunitas dan berkembang menjadi model peternakan yang berkelanjutan serta menerapkan standar kualitas yang ketat.

Dengan populasi 500 ayam dan produksi harian sekitar 430 butir telur, Temar Farm memastikan setiap ayam mendapatkan perawatan optimal. Hal ini mencakup penyediaan infrastruktur yang memadai, seperti tempat bertengger, area tempat pakan, dan fasilitas penyimpanan pakan, serta penerapan manajemen yang menjamin kesehatan dan kenyamanan ayam.

Upaya memperoleh sertifikasi Certified Humane® menjadi langkah penting dalam memperkuat nilai-nilai perusahaan. Melalui kemitraan dengan HFAC, Temar Farm memastikan seluruh praktiknya sesuai dengan standar kesejahteraan hewan internasional.

Meskipun proses sertifikasi menghadirkan tantangan, seperti penyusunan prosedur operasional standar (SOP) yang komprehensif dan penyesuaian fasilitas, manfaat yang diperoleh sangat signifikan, baik dalam meningkatkan kualitas hidup ayam maupun dalam meningkatkan produktivitas.

Peternakan ini berencana memperluas cakupan sertifikasi, mencakup ayam dan telur, guna memperluas jangkauan pasar dan membangun kepercayaan yang lebih luas dari konsumen.

Dampak pada Komunitas

Telur yang dihasilkan oleh Temar Farm dipasarkan terutama di Fakultas Peternakan UGM serta kepada masyarakat setempat. Kedekatan dengan konsumen tidak hanya memperkuat keterikatan dengan komunitas, tetapi juga mendorong konsumsi pangan yang segar dan berkelanjutan.

Temar Farm, located in Imogiri, Bantul, was born out of the desire of a group of young people, in collaboration with the Faculty of Animal Science at Universitas Gadjah Mada, to create a poultry farm that prioritizes animal welfare. The initiative started as a community project and has evolved over time to become a model of responsible farming, respecting strict quality standards.

With a flock of 500 chickens and a daily production of approximately 430 eggs, the farm strives to ensure that all animals are well cared for, from adequate infrastructure such as perches, feeding areas, and feed storage, to management practices that ensure the health and comfort of the birds.

The pursuit of Certified Humane® certification was an important step in consolidating the company’s values. By partnering with HFAC, Temar Farm ensured that its practices meet international animal welfare standards.

Although the process brought challenges, such as creating detailed standard operational procedures (SOPs) and adjusting facilities, the results were significant, both in the quality of life for the birds and in production improvement.

The farm intends to expand its certifications, including for the chickens and eggs, with the goal of broadening market reach and gaining even more consumer trust.

The eggs produced by Temar Farm are primarily marketed at the Faculty of Animal Science at UGM and to the local community. This closeness to consumers strengthens the bond with the region, promoting fresh and sustainable food.
